Sintons is a long-standing supporter of Building My Skills, a nationally-acclaimed scheme run by Esh Group which helps to boost the skills, confidence and career prospects of young people across the North East and beyond.

Building My Skills works with schools throughout the region, engaging over 11,000 students through its engagement sessions, which become part of each school’s curriculum. The programme concludes with a regional mock interview day to help young people use the skills they have learnt through the previous sessions.

Over 130 businesses are involved in Building My Skills, which has won national awards including Business in the Community’s National Big Tick for Education Partnerships and the Civil Engineering Contractors’ Association’s Inspiring Education Award.

Sintons has been a partner of Building My Skills since 2015 and has held sessions in schools across the North East, with lawyers and support staff from departments across the firm sharing their experience and advice with pupils.

For this academic year, Sintons will focus its attention on CVs and applying for jobs.

David Pritchard, head of marketing at Sintons, who delivers several of the firm’s sessions in schools across the region, said: “We are delighted to commit our support to Building My Skills for a fifth consecutive year, a programme which has had such a positive effect on the ambitions, aspirations and skills development of countless young people across the region. We are proud to play our part in this and to support Esh Group with the continuing development of this outstanding initiative

“As a leading North East business, we are well aware of our standing in the community and the responsibility that accompanies that, we are committed to supporting local people and initiatives wherever we can. It is a privilege to be able to help young people who are starting out in their working lives and we hope to help develop the skills and confidence which will stand them in good stead whichever career path they choose.”
